Expositie F.A. Molijn, weldoener in Nunspeet

In oktober is het weer de landelijke Maand van de Geschiedenis. Dit jaar is het thema Geluk, van gelukzoekers tot weldoeners. Daarom organiseert het Noord-Veluws Museum in samenwerking met de Heemkundige Vereniging Nuwenspete en het Streekarchivariaat Noordwest-Veluwe een expositie over de weldoener François Adriaan Molijn (1853-1912) die als industrieel een belangrijke rol speelde in de ontwikkeling van het dorp Nunspeet rond het jaar 1900. Als één van de vroege sociaal ondernemers van zijn tijd stichtte Molijn in 1895 een verffabriek in Nunspeet. In juni is voor het cultureel centrum Veluvine het standbeeld ter ere van François Adriaan Molijn onthuld. Deze hommage aan Nunspeets eerste grote industrieel is gemaakt door kunstenaar Nicolas Dings (1953).

Frans Molijn kwam uit een kunstzinnige familie. Zijn zussen Albertina Molijn en Marie Molijn waren actief als schilderes. Zijn vader Frans Molijn senior schildert als liefhebberij. Albertina was gehuwd met Pieter Hartong. Hun dochter Marianne Hartong volgde de Rotterdamse academie van beeldende kunsten en werd ook kunstschilder. Er zijn daarom ook acht kunstwerken van de familie Molijn en aanverwanten in de expositie te zien. Bijzonder is het album uit 1862 dat tekeningen bevat van alle kinderen van Frans Molijn sr.
